A Thought And a Rant

Summer is here, sort of. I can see my breath most mornings and then have the air conditioning on in the afternoons. Not too many warm days yet. Every winter I find myself looking at jobs in warmer states, wondering if I’ll always be in Minnesota.

My new job gives me three-day weekends and my family loves how much time I am going to have available this summer. We hope to get out on a lake or two, do some camping, biking etc. Slightly harder with a 9 month old, so we’ll see what happens.

Now a complete change in subject.

Speaking of my nine month old, I had a thought; here is a quote from President Bush on abortion. Please pay careful attention to the implications.

It is the grimmest of ironies that one of the most savage, barbaric acts of evil in history began in one of the most modernized societies of its time, where so many markers of human progress became tools of human depravity: science that can heal used to kill; education that can enlighten used to rationalize away basic moral impulses; the bureaucracy that sustains modern life used as the machinery of mass death -- a ruthless, chillingly efficient system where many were responsible for the killing, but few got actual blood on their hands.”

Now, what are the implications here? Rationalization of basic moral impulses; unwanted children can be murdered because it’s legal and it’s feministic rhetoric of “choice.” No matter that babies can feel pain, no matter that some abortions far out-weigh anything we could have done at Abu-Ghraib.

Many were responsible for the killing, but few got actual blood on their hands. How true.

How is it that criminal code reads that, “Whoever does any of the following is guilty of murder of an unborn child in the first degree and must be sentenced to imprisonment for life: Causes the death of an unborn child with premeditation and with intent to effect the death of the unborn child…”

With that in mind, where is the justice for over 70 MILLION murders. It sort of makes the holocaust and any other genocide look like small potatoes. My theory is that there is a visual disconnect. We never see the results of abortion; people are taught that it is a surgery, just like removing a growth or a tumor. But when someone has a completely separate genetic makeup, it’s called a human being.

Take note, I have put graphic picture at the bottom of this post in an effort to help that visual disconnect go away, it is not for the weak of stomach or the faint of heart, but it is something every person that spouts freedom of choice should be forced to see.

By the way, the quote above was not Bush regarding abortion; it was Obama regarding the Holocaust. Ironic that those words came from his mouth, he, one of the greatest supporters of abortion. I read his actions instead of his words, he may have said, “We need to come to common ground…reducing abortions” and all that, but his mouth does one thing while his hands sign something else. Would it have helped any if, during WWII we “came to common ground” on reducing the number of Jews killed from 6 million to 2 million? Or would it still have been a horrific genocide? We have blood on our hands.

Google more images if you dare, we should all feel sick...perhaps sick enough to DO something.
